Bailey Watson

Class of 2023
Production-Business Option, Livestock Emphasis
Secondary Major/Minor: Agriculture and Applied Economics

From: Fort Chiswell, Virginia

Growing up: Bailey has been involved in agriculture for her entire life. She lives on a small cow/calf operation, and her family also runs a small flock of sheep. In addition, both of her parents work in the agriculture industry. In high school, she was active in 4-H and FFA and played volleyball, basketball, and softball. Virginia Tech has always felt like home to her, so she decided to follow in her parents footsteps and pursue an Animal Science degree.

Extracurriculars:

  • Collegiate Young Farmers at Virginia Tech, President
  • Block and Bridle at Virginia Tech, Treasurer
  • Beef Leadership Council at Virginia Tech, VCA Representative
  • APSC Ambassador
  • Kentland Dairy Farm Student Employee

After Graduation: Bailey is not entirely sure what career I would like to pursue upon graduation (and that is okay)! She has a passion for the agriculture industry and advocating for it and plans to obtain a job that will allow her to continue to follow her passion.

Favorite Part about APSC: Bailey’s favorite part about APSC is being around those who have the same passions as her. From clubs to the classroom, you are surrounded by agriculturists! In addition, she enjoys expanding her knowledge about the animal industry so she can be an asset on her family farm and those around her.
