Growing up: Jennifer became passionate about animals around the age of seven when she began riding horses. In high school, she got a job exercising racehorses at a local racetrack and also participated in 4H by being president for two years. However, after spending the past few summers interning with a broiler company and working as a veterinary services intern for the world’s leading poultry genetics company, Aviagen, she gained a fascination for poultry health and welfare.

Extracurriculars:

  • Poultry Club
  • Undergraduate Research Assistant, Poultry Nutrition and Welfare 
  • APSC Student Ambassador, Public Relations/Social Media Coordinator
  • American Association of Avian Pathologists - Student Member

After Graduation: Upon graduation, Jennifer hopes to have the opportunity to attend veterinary school to practice poultry pathology or production medicine with hopes to expand the industry by improving sustainability and welfare.

Favorite Part about APSC: “My favorite part about APSC is how I can share opportunities with inspirational people that love and enjoy the same interests as me. There are numerous doors to be opened through this program and the faculty does an exceptional job at leading us to them.”
